At the trail head to Mission Falls...what a group!! Everyone full of energy and ready to "hit the trail"!!
Logan Denlinger, Dustin Crist, Jake Lynch, Ryan , Katlyn Wade, Hannah, Wyatt Crist, Jana and Steve Crist and Dave ...and of course, yours truly -- behind the camera!!
Beautiful scenes along the trail!
The trail?? What trail?? This is the avalanche that we crossed -- we made our own trail across this patch of snow, rocks and fallen trees!

One part of the trail had a "mini water fall" gushing over it... we had to cross it to continue up the trail! Turn and face the rocks and DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU! And praying wouldn't be a bad idea either!!!
Helping each other across this trail makes me think of how much we need our friends along the rocky, steep and slippery slopes of life -- Thanks all of you -- not just the ones that were here this day -- but all of you who hold out your hands to us on a regular basis...we need you!! God Bless you for walking the trail of life with your hand in ours!
Ahh...finally at the top!!! Random pictures taken at the top!!

Beautiful scenes of the valley ----
Weary feet and bubbled heals at the top!! Good thing mom remembered the bandaids!!
A few of us hiked on up above the falls a little -- this trail goes on up into the mountains to "The Garden Wall" beyond the falls that can be seen from the valley floor. That's another hike for later in the summer -- an overnight backpacking trip...probably without mom!!!
We had to have proof that mom and dad really did make it to the top!! Slower than the kids, but we made it!!

Along the trail....

We loaded everyone back in the vehicles and headed down the road (if you can call it a road...more like a very rough two track) along the lake towards the dam and the road to home. Some of us were in the back of Dave's pick up trying to keep from being bounced out and talking about the day--and someone says..."Hey, what's that swimming out there in the lake?"
Yes -- you are seeing correctly -- we watched this guy (or gal??) -- cougar swim across the lake, get out, shake the water from his/her coat and pace the bank looking for a way across the road where we were watching from the truck!! See -- I promised you exciting wildlife sightings, didn't I??
